Danbury Settles Wetlands Dumping Dispute With Former Councilman

Danbury officials have resolved a three year environmental dispute involving Halas Farm and former City Councilman Michael Halas. City regulators accused Halas of dumping pumpkins and other organic debris onto protected wetlands owned by the city. Under the agreement, Halas removed the debris, will build a concrete composting enclosure on his Pembroke Road property, and will stay clear of adjacent wetlands. Warning signs will replace a previously proposed fence. The wetlands commission approved the settlement unanimously.
