The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is reminding visitors to stay cautious in and around water as lifeguard coverage winds down. Lifeguards will remain at many parks through Labor Day, but starting September 2, no state park swimming areas will be staffed. DEEP urges supervision of children, no swimming alone, and use of life jackets for inexperienced swimmers.
