Dozens of Connecticut Nurses Lose Licenses Over Fake Degree Scandal

Fifty-eight nurses in Connecticut have either surrendered or had their licenses revoked after receiving degrees from Florida schools tied to a federal diploma fraud scheme. The investigation, known as “Operation Nightingale,” alleges more than 7,600 bogus nursing diplomas were sold nationwide. One Connecticut nurse was suspended this week for lacking required clinical training. Officials say the fraudulent credentials pose a public safety risk. It’s still unclear whether all the involved students involved knew the degrees were fake.
