Eversource is replacing more than 18,000 feet of old cast iron and bare steel gas pipes in Danbury with safer, more durable plastic lines. The work, underway through the end of the year, is part of a statewide program to modernize the system and improve safety. Crews are working on several city streets, with brief service disruptions possible. Another 25,000 feet of pipe will be replaced in 2026.
