Florida Man Sentenced in Danbury Kidnapping Linked to Crypto Heist

A Florida man has been sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for his role in a violent 2024 kidnapping in Danbury. Twenty-four year old Anthony Pena was one of six men arrested after two victims were abducted, beaten with a bat, and duct-taped inside a van. Police caught the group after a chase and crash.
Federal prosecutors say the kidnapping was tied to an extortion attempt involving a multimillion-dollar cryptocurrency theft. Four other suspects have also pleaded guilty.
