A 79-year-old former school bus monitor from Bridgeport has admitted to repeatedly hitting a 9-year-old special needs student in Newtown. George Saydah was arrested and now faces charges including risk of injury to a child and assault. Police say Saydah slapped the boy in the face on a parked bus in March, then confessed to shaking him regularly. He was caught after school officials reviewed video footage and reported the abuse. Saydah also allegedly made parents uncomfortable by showing up uninvited at homes and asking for playdates. He’s due in court this Friday in Danbury.
