Former Lamont Aide Misused State Vehicle, Drove Recklessly, Report Finds

Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont’s former chief of staff, Jonathan Dach, used a state-owned vehicle for personal trips, routinely sped — topping out at 96 mph — and gave rides to his girlfriend, according to a newly released investigative report. The 2023–24 misuse involved more than 200 trips exceeding the speed limit by at least 10 miles per hour. Damage to the vehicle, valued at $3,500, appeared after Dach last used it. The investigation cost taxpayers nearly $73,000.
