A 54-year-old homeless man accused of threatening to kill Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves was found to have dozens of firearms, police say. Troy Kennard was charged last month with second-degree threatening after calling City Hall and making violent statements about Alves. He was initially held on $50,000 bond, then released with GPS monitoring on July 21. Police later searched Kennard’s storage unit and found 22 firearms, including handguns, rifles, and a shotgun. Authorities say Kennard had registered over 40 weapons and previously refused to surrender his guns. A protective police detail has since been assigned to the mayor.
