A federal judge has signed off on the $62 million sale of the Covered Bridge apartment complex in Newtown, ending an 11-month bankruptcy fight for developer Anthony Lucera. The ruling says the deal was negotiated in good faith and is the best option for creditors. The sale to BDC Realty Holdings wipes Lucera’s companies of liability and pays down more than $61 million in debt, including unpaid taxes. Tenants will soon have a new landlord, though no timeline was given. The complex includes seven buildings, one of them still under construction.
