Governor Ned Lamont has declared a statewide state of emergency due to the major winter storm that is bringing blizzard conditions across Connecticut. An emergency order bans all commercial vehicles from traveling on limited access highways. It went into effect at 5 p.m. Sunday and remains in effect until further notice. The ban does not apply to emergency vehicles, utilities, or trucks carrying essential supplies such as food, fuel, and medical materials.
