Governor Ned Lamont ordered an immediate rollback of proposed property tax increases on Connecticut farmland, forestland, open space, and maritime heritage land. Lamont directed the Office of Policy and Management to reinstate 2020 land use values under Public Act 490 after flawed data triggered sharp assessment hikes starting with the 2025 grand list. State officials say the increases threatened family farms and open land. A working group will review valuation methods and data collection going forward.
