Newtown Police say a man was killed Thursday evening after being hit by his own commercial vehicle on Hawleyville Road near Old Hawleyville Road. Investigators say the truck began rolling forward after the driver stepped out, striking him and causing fatal injuries. The vehicle stopped near the Exit 9 commuter lot. Police say no other vehicles were involved.
