A New Fairfield school employee remains on leave as police and school officials continue to investigate alleged inappropriate interactions with students. Christopher Fernandes, a 26 year old middle school paraeducator and high school basketball coach, was placed on paid administrative leave in March. School officials say the allegations involve at least one minor and possibly inappropriate electronic communication. The district says Fernandes has been barred from school property and contact with students while the investigation plays out. It’s the second misconduct case in the district in two years.
