New Milford’s Town Council has approved more than 800-thousand dollars to expand recreation at the John Pettibone Community Center. Plans include three new pickleball courts, a pedal park designed to help children learn to ride bikes, and expanded parking. Officials say construction should begin within a year, with a tentative opening in 2027, and the project will be fully paid for through a landfill settlement fund with no cost to taxpayers.
