New Milford Gets $1m Grant to Rebuild Merryall Road

New Milford has been awarded a $1 million state grant to repave and rebuild over a mile of Merryall Road between West Meetinghouse and Wellsville roads. The project, set for summer 2026, is backed by Connecticut’s Small Town Economic Assistance Program. The town will contribute more than $316,000. Public Works says the road surface is deteriorating and drainage needs upgrades. Final design work begins after July 1, and a public meeting will be scheduled to review the plans.
