New Milford leaders, along with End Hunger Connecticut and the United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut, will hold a press conference today at Town Hall to push for state funding for universal school meals. Advocates say thousands of local students rely on school breakfast and lunch as their main source of nutrition. Universal meals could reduce stigma, improve attendance, and give every child a better chance to succeed in the classroom.
