New Milford police arrested 21 year old Xavier Alverio for first-degree assault after he reportedly beat another man with a baseball bat during an argument over a broken TV. The victim suffered severe injuries, including damage to his right eye, broken ribs, and a brain bleed. Alverio was held on $250,000 bond following a court appearance Tuesday. The case is set for August 26.
