A 30 year old New Milford man is taking on one of the toughest endurance challenges of his life—running 860 miles from the top of Alaska to the bottom. Devon McLaughlin says he plans to average 49 miles a day starting August 3, beginning in Deadhorse and ending in Anchorage in just under three weeks. The journey is meant to test his physical and mental limits, but he’s also raising money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, inspired by his sister-in-law’s diagnosis. McLaughlin’s trip will be documented on social media by a friend, with his brother joining during the final stretch.
