Newtown land use officials have approved plans for a new splash pad behind the community center at Fairfield Hills. The project cleared Planning and Zoning after assurances it will match the historic look of the former hospital campus. The splash pad will include a toddler area, family patio, and a small maintenance building with restrooms. Town officials say the attraction is expected to boost summer attendance and revenue, with final design review still required.
