Newtown officials have approved the construction of four two-acre homes on eight acres surrounding a historic hilltop manor once part of Great Ring Farm. The Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously. The lots are the final pieces of a 377-acre farm divided 40 years ago. Homebuyers will need separate approvals for site plans, including any pools, tennis courts, or additional features. The decision reflects a regional trend toward single-family homes after years of higher-density development.
