Newtown fire crews had a busy day Tuesday, responding to six calls, including rescuing a 56 year old woman injured while hiking and putting out a car fire. The woman broke a bone on the Blue Zoar Trail in Lower Paugussett (paw-GUS-et) State Forest. Crews reached her by boat and got her to safety. Less than 30 minutes later, firefighters knocked down a car fire at a Sandy Hook home using 1,000 gallons of water. No injuries were reported in either incident.
