Newtown Woman Arrested After Barricading Herself During Dcf Investigation

A 26 year old Newtown woman is facing charges after barricading herself inside a home during a Department of Children and Families investigation. Police say Samantha Rivera refused to come out of a residence near Park Lane and Greenbriar Lane Tuesday afternoon. She fled the home on foot after nearly three hours and was arrested. One officer suffered a minor injury while taking her into custody. Rivera was treated at Danbury Hospital for a cut. Authorities say criminal charges will be announced later.
