26 year old Samantha Rivera is charged with assault on a police officer, risk of injury to a child, larceny, and other offenses following a standoff at her Newtown home June 3. Police say Rivera stole her unregistered SUV from a tow lot earlier that day and threatened officers with knives before fleeing on foot. She was arrested after an altercation and remains in custody.
