Nearly a year after severe flooding shut down multiple roads in Redding, state officials have approved $6 million in grants to help rebuild four damaged bridges. The funds come from the State Local Bridge program and will cover half the cost to replace structures on Sport Hill, Greenbush, Brookside and Long Wall roads. Three of the four have been closed since last August. Town leaders say Sport Hill Road is the top priority due to its impact on daily traffic. Construction is expected to begin in 2026.
