A new report from the Office of the Child Advocate is calling for mandatory background checks and required reporter training at unlicensed youth camps across Connecticut, following a child sex abuse case tied to a town-run program in on part of our state. The report shows that current law leaves gaps that put children at risk. Lawmakers are now weighing legislation that stops short of those recommendations.
