Ridgefield will install a “beaver deceiver” at Turtle Pond to stop flooding caused by persistent damming. The Inland Wetlands Board approved the device, officially called a Flexible Pond Leveler, which will lower water levels by more than a foot and prevent overflow onto Old Sib Road and Hidden Lake Court. The $2,500 cost will be covered by a local community group. Residents say the dam has led to winter accidents and tree damage. Installation is set for May 29.
