Southbury Awarded State Grant For Waste Reduction Efforts

Southbury will receive $157,000 from the state to support new waste reduction programs. The grant comes as part of a $7.5 million package benefiting 18 municipalities and regional groups across Connecticut. The funding will help Southbury develop a unit-based pricing system and food scraps recycling program at its transfer station — an effort aimed at cutting disposal costs and reducing waste sent to landfills.
