Connecticut paid state employees more than six billion dollars in 2025, up over two hundred million from the year before. The highest-paid workers were head coaches at the University of Connecticut, led by men’s basketball coach Dan Hurley at about ten million dollars. Overtime spending reached roughly four hundred million dollars, with corrections and state police agencies accounting for about half of that total.
