State Police Log Heavy Holiday DUI Arrests

Connecticut State Police reported 30 DUI arrests over the Thanksgiving weekend and nearly 1,300 traffic stops. Troopers handled more than 5,200 calls for service and 475 crashes. Two wrecks turned deadly — one on I-95 in Groton that killed 35 year old Derek Curtis of Pawcatuck, and another on I-395 in Montville that killed 50 year old Edward M. Mascola of Haddam. Police say last year saw fewer arrests and only one fatal crash.
