United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut says it is well short of its fundraising goal for families in Danbury and surrounding communities. The annual Giving Fund has raised just over 23 thousand dollars in the past month, far below the 100 thousand dollars needed. Officials say only two of 66 local cases have been fully funded. Donations support Danbury families struggling with basic needs like food, utilities, transportation, and medical costs, with the fund remaining open as the need continues.
