Two Connecticut Towns have been awarded funds from the U. S. Department of Transportation under the Safe Streets for All program. Greenwich is getting $400,000 and Newtown is receiving $80,000. The money is earmarked to allow both communities to prepare Safety Action Plans recommending safety improvements for future implementation. The grants were part of a nationwide program totaling $86 Million for planning activities.
