Yankee Gas, a subsidiary of Eversource Energy, has agreed to pay a $200,000 fine for safety violations that took place over the past ten years here in Connecticut. The Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority said Tuesday that most of the violations occurred between 2016 and the end of 2022. They included improperly updated safety records, failure to inspect excavation activities near natural gas distribution lines, and failure to do atmospheric and gas leakage testing at required intervals… among other violations.
