Ridgefield Looking At Electric Boats

In what they call an effort to protect the water quality and to keep swimmers safe during the annual triathlon, Ridgefield wants to buy electric boats for emergency use. That after some Ridgefield residents had concerns of pollution caused by internal combustion engines that have traditionally been used each June, when the competition takes place at Great Pond Lake. If they decide to do it, the cost is steep… possibly as much as $8,500 per boat.
