Macy’s has announced that they plan to close 150 stores nationwide over the next three years, leaving many shoppers here in Connecticut… along with many local officials… concerned about the future of the six Macy’s locations in our state. The closures, according to Macy’s, are part of their strategy to focus on better performing locations and luxury brands. Some retail experts though, say it represents a troubling trend dealing with retail, inflation, and the economy in general.
