Chemical Leak Quickly Mitigated

The Danbury Fire Department’s hazardous materials team responded to a hydrogen chloride leak at a business on Wooster Heights Road. The alarm was activated yesterday around 9:30am in one of their labs, prompting a full hazmat response. The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was also called in to assist. The Hazmat Team found a small leak in a tank, which was quickly mitigated. There were no injuries or exposures to staff or responders, and no chemical was released outside of the lab, posing no hazard to the public.
