The $311.65 million spending plan represents a $15.9 million increase over the current fiscal year’s budget. While the proposal increases funding for the city’s school system by over $10 million, it falls short of meeting the Board of Education’s $181.3 million budget request. The budget also allocates funds for public safety and emergency services.
