Connecticut officials are taking precautionary measures against eastern equine encephalitis after detecting infected mosquitoes in the state. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection will conduct insecticide spraying in many areas as we head into the weekend. While no human cases of EEE have been reported this season, DEEP urges residents to limit outdoor activity at dawn and dusk, use insect repellent, and wear protective clothing.
