Overcrowding Again Shuts Down State Parks

It happened again… Another hot weekend with more Connecticut residents refused entry to some state parks. Four Connecticut state parks closed to new visitors Sunday after reaching capacity. Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield was one of them. It closed by 9:30AM yesterday! The others were Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme; Gardner Lake State Park in Salem; and Millers Pond State Park in Haddam (HAD-em). The closures came after the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, which manages 142 parks statewide, said there was no more room.
