New Fairfield has taken a big step towards upgrading Rebels Stadium’s track and turf field. Yesterday, the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance approved a $600,000 transfer from the town’s 2023-24 budget surplus to fund the replacement project. This amount will cover most of the $950,000 total cost, with additional funding coming from ARPA funds and a small contribution from the Board of Education. A town meeting to vote on the appropriation is scheduled for September 17 at 7 p.m. at the New Fairfield Senior Center.
