Accused Ridgefield Murderer’s Court Date Re-Scheduled

A Ridgefield man accused of murdering his father is now scheduled to appear in court next week for a competency report hearing. 31 year old Steven Uricchio was charged with murder after police say he confessed to killing his 83-year-old father, Marc Uricchio, on August 3. Uricchio, who remains in custody on a $1.5 million bond, was initially represented by attorney Willie Dow, but public defender Thomas Leaf will now take over the case. The hearing has now been re-scheduled for September 11th in Danbury’s state Superior Court, and it will focus on evaluating Uricchio’s mental competency to stand trial.
