In Ridgefield, new accessible playgrounds are now open at Barlow Mountain and Ridgebury Elementary Schools just in time for the new school year. The playgrounds were officially opened on August 26th with ribbon-cutting ceremonies that were attended by families, school officials, and town leaders. The playgrounds are designed for all students, and the public is welcome to use them after school hours and on weekends. They represent a collaboration between the town and the school district. A similar playground is planned for Scotland Elementary, with a ribbon-cutting expected in October.
