A Newtown woman accused of having a part in a Christmas Eve standoff and shooting last year is scheduled for a court hearing on Friday. 34 year old Meghan Gouveia was arrested last December after allegedly shooting her husband and engaging in an hours-long standoff with police at their home on Boggs Hill Road. Her husband suffered two gunshot wounds, and was treated at the hospital and later released. Gouveia faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault and risk of injury to minors, as her two young children were present but unharmed during the incident. She has been on house arrest since her release.
